It’s the first thing a new network marketer is told to do by their upline, isn’t it.
“Make a list of everyone you know. They are your prospects. We call them your ‘warm market’ because they know you and will be receptive to what you have to offer.”
No they won’t!
Are you crazy?
They are your family and friends, the most treasured of your relationships.
Don’t mess that up!
But if you have a product or opportunity that will make their life better, shouldn’t you share it with them?
Of course, BUT… only if they ask. Be patient. Let them come to you… and they will, when they see what it is doing for you.
So what’s the alternative? You need prospects. You cannot grow your mlm business without them. In fact, without prospects, you have no business.
There are thousands of people out there who want and need what you have to offer. These are your prospects.
If you’re chasing family and friends and people you meet, you’re fighting an uphill battle. They’re not prospects. They are people you will have to convince to become prospects and that’s doing it the hard way.
Is it any wonder that so many who start their network marketing careers this way get discouraged and frustrated and quit?
So where are these thousands of people who want and need what you have to offer? And how do you find them?
I thought you’d never ask!
They are surfing the Internet looking for you. All you have to do is help them find you.
Yes, this means you must have a presence on the Internet and, like a magnet, you must attract them to you. It’s called “attraction marketing.”
